Students appointed to APhA-ASP national standing committees

Two students from the UTHSC College of Pharmacy were appointed to national standing committees for the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP). Cassye Marsh, a third-year pharmacy student, was appointed to the National Standing Committee for Awards, and Juan Rodriguez, a second-year pharmacy student, was appointed to the National Standing Committee for Member Engagement.

College thanks donors at appreciation lunch

Dean Marie Chisholm-Burns hosted a Faculty and Staff Donor Appreciation Lunch in Memphis to thank faculty and staff members for their financial contributions from July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. She will host similar events for our faculty in Nashville and Knoxville this fall.

Students receive grant for opioid education and Narcan training

Students receive Outstanding Graduate Student awards

In January 2020, two College of Pharmacy students received 2019 Outstanding Graduate Student Awards in recognition of their scholarly achievements. Yuqing Gong received the College of Pharmacy Outstanding Graduate Student Award, and Shanshan Deng received the Pharmaceutical Sciences Program Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Hohmeier, Saling receive APhA Foundation grant

Dr. Kenneth Hohmeier, associate professor, and his resident, Dr. Jacob Saling, were awarded a 2020 Incentive Grant for Practitioner Innovation in Pharmaceutical Care by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation for their research proposal “Scaling Technician Product Verification (TPV): Developing an Implementation Strategy for a Nationwide Grocery Chain Pharmacy.”
