Congratulations to Tyler Melton, PharmD, on being named the college’s second-ever Top Educator ACHievement (TEACH) Award, which is presented annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated consistent excellence in teaching as recognized by their peers and students in the didactic/pre-APPE sequence of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.

The TEACH Award recognizes teaching excellence, evidence-based teaching approaches, and scholarship in the field of teaching and learning.
The selection committee enthusiastically endorsed Dr. Melton as this year’s TEACH Award recipient. Highlights of his teaching excellence include designing and successfully implementing the Rural Health Certificate Program, supported by student evaluations and a highly complementary student letter of support. His creative and innovative teaching methods are present in one of his IPT-1 course assignments reviewed by the committee. His narratives, student evaluations, peer evaluations of teaching, and letters of support all attest to his excellence in pharmacy education.
Dr. Melton is one of our most engaged and committed faculty, and it is evident that our students value his efforts to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
Please join us in celebrating Dr. Melton’s well-deserved recognition!
Special thanks to this year’s selection committee members, Drs. Andrea Franks, Dawn Havrda, Carmen Coleman, Isaac Donkor, Sarka Beranova, and Cathy Crill.
