On the first week of August, we proudly welcomed the PharmD Class of 2029!
This year’s incoming class comprises 99 students from 49 undergraduate institutions, with a median GPA of 3.58. This continues the UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy’s proud tradition of attracting top-tier students from across the country to our top 20 pharmacy school.
From August 4-6, we welcomed students from all three campuses to Memphis for orientation. The festivities included a welcome dinner at world-famous Rendezvous (sponsored by Walgreens, Inc.) and our white coat ceremony.
Special thanks to alumnus Derek Holyfield, PharmD (CEO, West Tennessee Pharms), for serving as our featured speaker at the white coat ceremony, where he shared his experiences during pharmacy school and emphasized the importance of taking time to relax and unwind to balance the demanding academic program.
Thank you to our student orientation leaders, staff, and faculty for ensuring a wonderful welcome and helping to make sure everything ran smoothly.
