Graduate student Nelufar Yasmen receives Trainee Professional Development Award from the Society for Neuroscience!

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) presents the Trainee Professional Development Award (TPDA) to recognize outstanding young scientists and support their participation in the SfN annual meeting. This award is designed to help trainees advance their careers by allowing them to present their research, network with peers, and gain valuable feedback from leaders in the field. Recipients are selected based on their research’s scientific merit and potential to contribute to the neuroscience community.
Yasmen, a graduate student of Jianxiong Jiang, PhD, received this recognition for the team’s research into the role of Siglec-E in seizure generation. Their findings demonstrate that the global deletion of Siglec-E reduces seizure activity across various models, offering exciting potential for developing new therapeutic strategies.
“This award not only acknowledges our findings but also deeply motivates me to continue pursuing innovative research in seizure management,” says Nelufar. “I am honored and thankful for the crucial role it will undoubtedly play in advancing my future career in neuroscience.”
Join us in congratulating her on her well-deserved prestigious award!
