Congratulations to UT Health Science Center faculty Dennis Leo, assistant professor, UTHSC College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Jonathan H. Jaggar, endowed professor UTHSC College of Medicine, Department of Physiology, who were acknowledged by the American Physiological Society for their distinction in scholarship in the American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology for their article “Extracellular glucose and dysfunctional insulin receptor signaling independently upregulate arterial smooth muscle TMEM16A expression.”
The article was also selected for APSselect, a collection from the American Physiological Society that showcases some of the best recently published articles in physiological research.
In addition to Leo and Jaggar, the co-authors of the article were Somasundaram Raghavan (Post-doc, Department of Pharmaceutical Science), Masuma Akter Brishti (Graduate Student, Department of Pharmaceutical Science), Angelica Bernardelli (Post-doc, Department of Physiology, College of Medicine), and Alejandro Mata-Daboin (Instructor, Department of Physiology, College of Medicine).
