Congratulations to Dr. Wei Li on his appointment as the Co-Program Leader for Chemical Biology at the UT Health Science Center, Center for Cancer Research, effective March 1, 2024. His appointment will be for a two-year term and may be renewed.
Dr. Chris Finch, chair and professor of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science at the College of Pharmacy, is the program leader for chemical biology. Typically, cancer center programs have a leader and a co-leader, one with a clinical background and the other with a basic science background. As Dr. Finch is a clinical pharmacist, Dr. Li’ will serve as a basic science co-leader of this program. As the Program Co-Leader, Dr. Li will provide visionary leadership, long-term strategic planning for the growth and development of technology, and oversight for current operational activities that include oncology drug discovery and development, all related programmatic research, and recruitment of faculty into this program.
