Dr. Santosh Kumar and two of his graduate students, Lina Zhou and Sandip Godse, attended the 28th Scientific Conference of the Society on NeuroImmune Pharmacology (SNIP) in Charleston, SC from March 10-13, 2024. During the conference, Dr. Kumar hosted a symposium on “Neuropharmacology & Neuroimmunology of HIV and Substance Use Disorder” and also served as the past president of the SNIP from 2020 to 2022.
Lina Zhou, a fourth-year PhD student from Dr. Kumar’s lab, received the Early Career Investigator Travel Award for her excellent and innovative research. She presented a talk and poster on her hybrid extracellular vesicle drug loading system, which aims to suppress HIV in the CNS reservoirs.
Sandip Godse, a fourth-year PhD candidate, was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for his outstanding research contributions. His work focuses on developing a novel adjuvant approach to enhance ART delivery across the blood-brain barrier in the study of HIV neuropathogenesis. Sandip presented his innovative research through a poster presentation during the conference.
