College of Pharmacy Dean Marie Chisholm-Burns received the 2022 Outstanding Dean Award from the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) during the 2022 Annual Meeting held in March in San Antonio, Texas. This award recognizes deans who have made significant contributions to chapters of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA–ASP) and who promote the welfare of student pharmacists through community service, leadership, and professional activities.
Dean Chisholm-Burns was also recognized on April 1, 2022, by the UTHSC College of Pharmacy Alumni Association Board of Directors as an Honorary Alumni Board of Directors Member. She received a personalized crystal and glass award in recognition of her longstanding commitment and service to the UTHSC College of Pharmacy students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Dean was also recognized by the Tennessee Legislature for her exemplary tenure as the dean of the College of Pharmacy at UTHSC. A Joint Resolution honors and commends her for her dedication to health, education, research, diversity, equity and inclusion, and implementation of innovative learning environments.
