The College of Pharmacy celebrated its Class of 2020 this month with a special congratulations video on May 5, when their graduation was originally scheduled. This video included personalized messages from Dean Marie Chisholm-Burns, UTHSC Chancellor Steve Schwab and University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd, who was scheduled to serve as the commencement speaker this year.

The college also shared a video of Dr. Jennifer Schoelles, associate dean for student affairs, Dr. Dawn Havrda, associate dean for academic affairs, and Dr. Chasity Shelton, assistant dean for student success, surprising the salutatorians and valedictorian.

Lastly, the college used Facebook and Instagram to announce our graduation award winners over 21 days in a Virtual Awards Ceremony and honored inductees and members of the following honor societies: Imhotep, Rho Chi, and Phi Lambda Sigma.
“Although these activities do not replace a traditional graduation ceremony, we wanted to celebrate the Class of 2020 in multiple ways and on multiple platforms,” said Dean Chisholm-Burns. “We wanted the class to know we are proud of them and all they have accomplished.”
