Nirnoy Dan, a 3rd year PhD student who is advised by Dr. Subhash Chauhan, and Sanjana Haque, a 3rd year PhD student advised by Dr. Santosh Kumar, both placed in the College of Graduate Health Sciences Three-minute THeses Competition on Oct. 26. Dan finished second in the competition while Haque won People’s Choice.
Individuals who take part in the competition have just three minutes to present their dissertations. On average, students take at least 2-3 hours to present their dissertation. Since 2015, the international Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition has helped graduate students hone their communication skills by challenging them to share their research in three minutes in a way anyone could understand. 3MT® was founded by the University of Queensland.
