The UTHSC College of Pharmacy celebrated the retirement of Dr. Timothy Self on June 22. Dr. Self leaves the College after a 46-year career with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy. The College has never had a faculty member serve a longer time or given more of themselves than Dr. Self. He was a major part of the transformation of our profession, and has served as an incredible role-model/mentor to about 5,000 students and 35 residents.
The Drs. Timothy H. & Melissa Matlock-Self Endowed Scholarship fund was initiated as a perpetual recognition for his devotion to the College. To date, a total of over $50,000 in gifts and pledges have been received to honor Dr. Self.
