The College of Pharmacy said “see you later” to one of our smiling faces this May. Stephanie Weathers served as a student service coordinator on the Knoxville campus since November 2006. She was an integral part of the original staff who were recruited to begin the campus in Knoxville. She also played an important role in student recruitment in the East Tennessee area, as well as led the Pre-Pharmacy Shadowing Program offered to UT Knoxville undergraduates interested in pursuing a pharmacy career. Weathers has a Bachelors of Arts in Speech Pathology, a Master of Science in Elementary Education, and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel.
The College of Pharmacy’s Knoxville campus celebrated Stephanie Weathers on May 6, 2016 with an ice cream social and reminisced on her support and dedication to the college and its students. Drs. Peter Chyka, Jim Eoff, and Leslie Hamilton all spoke on her behalf, thanking her for her years of commitment and service. Of all the things Weathers did for the college and its students, her open door and constant student encouragement may be what she was best known for. She will continue empowering and supporting students’ academic careers in her new position as a Professional Academic Coach at the Student Success Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The College of Pharmacy will certainly miss Stephanie Weathers, and we wish her the very best in her new position.
