Farr and PesterfieldMr. David Pesterfield has been an avid supporter of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy for more than ten years. His generous contributions have helped fund the annual Pharmacy Update Continuing Education Seminar that is presented at eight sites throughout the state. He is also an advocate of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association and all aspects of pharmacy practice. Mr. Pesterfield has donated more than $100,000 to the continuing education programs. His most recent gift of $10,000 will be allocated to continuing education for the 2016 Pharmacy Update Seminar.
Originally from Maryville, Mr. Pesterfield graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University with a degree in accounting. He spent the majority of his career in the wholesale drug industry at Chapman Drugs prior to their acquisition by Cardinal Health. In 1996, Mr. Pesterfield started Pharmacy Plus, LLC, in the hopes of easing the marketplace pressure on independent pharmacists. In 2010, Mr. Pesterfield was honored by the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy with the Distinguished Service to Pharmacy Award. He continues to support the profession as the president of Pharmacy Plus, LLC.
