On February 18, 2016, Drs. David and Martha Shepard participated in an eighth grade career fair held at the Knoxville Expo Center. The duo represented the College of Pharmacy as members of the new Alumni Recruiting Team (ART), educating students about the profession of pharmacy. In addition to participating in recruiting events, ART participants can provide shadowing experiences for future pharmacists and share brochures and information with prospective students. The Shepards are actively engaged in pharmacy practice. The couple owns a small chain of independent pharmacies in Dickson, and they are great proponents of legislation benefitting the profession. Dr. David Shepard serves as a member of the Tennessee General Assembly, and he is the recipient of numerous awards for his commitment and dedication to pharmacy.
