Duane D. Miller, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, announced his retirement from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. His retirement will be effective August 31, 2015. Dr. Miller joined the College of Pharmacy faculty in 1992 and since has received numerous awards, including recently being named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and has had an immense effect on the lives of many student pharmacists. He will be greatly missed by faculty and students of the College of Pharmacy and we wish him happiness in beginning his next phase in life.
Dr. Miller said of his time at the College of Pharmacy, “I have really enjoyed the teaching, research, service, and the relationships and friends that I have made with the students, staff, and faculty. The research collaborators with which I have interacted at the University have made our research studies most enjoyable.” Dr. Miller plans to continue some research at the college and is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
A retirement reception will be hosted in Dr. Miller’s honor on Friday, August 28 from 3 – 4:30 pm CT in the lobby of the College of Pharmacy building in Memphis.
