Carol L. White, PharmD, BCPS, CGP, CPHIMS (’09) assistant professor of Clinical Pharmacy is now a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS). CPHIMS is a professional certification program for healthcare information and management systems professionals. As of December 2014, 5,528 people had applied to take the CPHIMS exam and only 3,650 people passed on their first attempt. Passing the CPHIMS exam validates that Dr. White has mastered the knowledge to practice in today’s healthcare information and management systems field and has met the highest standards of practice in this field for health informatics professionals.
Dr. White completed a 2-year pharmacotherapy residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is the course coordinator for the Information, Technology, and Safety (IT&S) course for P2 student pharmacists which focuses on drug information, medication use safety, and informatics, and she is an Ambulatory Clinical Informatics Pharmacist for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Physician Services Group.
