Every fall, UTCOP hosts international student pharmacists and pharmacists learning about pharmacy practice in the United States. This year, UTCOP hosted visitors from Japan, Thailand, Hungary, Ireland, and Turkey. The group spent time in Memphis and Knoxville. In Memphis, the students toured LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, Walgreens Pharmacy, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as joining the UTCOP student pharmacists in some of their classes. Additionally, they attended a Phi Delta Chi party, the Delta Fair, took the Kookamonga Challenge at Kooky Canuks, went to the zoo, and Shelby Farms. In Knoxville, the group toured local practice sites such as the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Mac’s Pharmacy, and Belew Drug. They hiked in the Smoky Mountains and were treated to some of the Knoxville area’s great shopping attractions.
