What specific factors or experiences motivated you to select the UTHSC Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program as your preferred pathway?
For me it was the opportunities within the program. The combination of Kroger Health, a community pharmacy leader that continued to stay at the forefront of innovation of patient care services, and UTHSC, a top 20 school in the country, perked my interest in the program. Then as I learned more about the program and met more of the people involved with the program I knew it was a great fit for me: the patient care, leadership development, and staffing opportunites were exactly what I was looking for in a PGY1.
Can you share the most impactful or transformative experience you had during your residency year?
Being able to collaborate frequently with division leadership allowed me to really understand the “why” behind the scenes. This experience continues to help me understand the why behind various decisions and initiatives.

In what ways has participation in the UTHSC residency program contributed to your personal and professional development, and how has it helped you move toward your long-term career aspirations?
The UTHSC residency program absolutely laid the foundation for my professional development. The connections and relationships I was able to foster during that year along with the specific experiences I was able to encounter helped lay the path toward my long-term career goals. I would not be in the position I am today, with the opportunities I have at this point in my career without that experience. Additionally, having completed this specific program allowed me to ultimately stay in Nashville close to my family, which I may not have been able to do otherwise having gone to school out of state.
