2025 SNPhA National Convention Awards and Highlights

|

The SNPhA chapter had a strong presence at the 2025 National Convention in early August, with 16 students and three advisors actively participating in various events and competitions.

Our chapter proudly received several distinguished honors and awards. We secured second place for the Large Chapter of the Year Award, a competition that is extended only to the top five large chapters nationwide with the highest CIC point totals. Brittney Combest was also elected as the National SNPhA President-Elect, and Manako Woods was a finalist for Chapter President of the Year. The chapter earned second place in both the Mental Health Initiative and Power to End Stroke Initiative.

Rekiyah Spears represented UTHSC as the official Chapter Delegate in national discussions and voting. We awarded a total of $2,250 in scholarships, including the Kroger Endowed Scholarship to Manako Woods and Brittney Combest, as well as the Green Book Award to Nicole Falodun. Our team participated in the Large Chapter of the Year presentation, featuring Manako Woods, Brittney Combest, Ava Mosadegh, Nicole Falodun, and Daniel Brunner. Additionally, two teams excelled in the Kroger Clinical Skills Competition—Imaru Agholor with Melany Rodriguez, and Rekiayah Spears with Shaliyah Nelson. Three teams competed in the Germ Genius Competition: Imaru Agholor with Nicole Falodun, Manako Woods with Sheroze Malik, and Brittney Combest with Rekiayah Spears.
