Congratulations to P2 PharmD student Jylexus A. Burks, who attended the prestigious National Community Pharmacy Organization’s Pharmacy Ownership and Leadership Academy session hosted by the University of Arkansas Medical School College of Pharmacy from June 15-20. Admission to the session was highly competitive, with only 40 PharmD students from across the United States being selected.

POLA is a week-long academy focused on the fundamentals of pharmacy ownership, leadership, and self-awareness. The POLA curriculum is specifically designed to prepare students and equip them with the tools they need to succeed as independent pharmacy owners.
“I had an invaluable experience through the NCPA-UAMS POLA,” says Jylexus. “This program has truly helped me grow — not only as a leader, but as a future healthcare professional committed to advocacy and service. I’m especially grateful for the relationships I built and the lessons I’ll carry with me moving forward.”
Join us in congratulating Jylexus on this honor!
