Congrats to P3 student Ashlyn Man, who was awarded 2nd place in the ACCP Top Education and Training Poster competition at the 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting.

Man’s poster, “The Virtual Waiting Room: Asynchronous Interprofessional Education Enhances Student Experience,” focuses on an interprofessional education (IPE) event held between UT Health Science Center Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine and how well it fostered effective communication between the two disciplines. The research team found that students felt the event helped them better communicate with each other and learn more about each other’s roles in healthcare.

Faculty members Thad McGiness, PharmD, and Leslie Hamilton, PharmD, are Man’s faculty mentors and participated in this research. Additionally, Man worked with Carrie Stallings, MD, from the UT Health Science Center College of Medicine. College of Pharmacy faculty member A. Shaun Rowe, PharmD, performed the research statistics.
“I am honored to have come in second place to some excellent pharmacists and PhDs!” says Man. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project, and I thank my mentors, Dr. McGiness and Dr. Hamilton, for their guidance and support on the poster.”
This competition was highly competitive, and Man deserves huge congratulations for her work!
