Preceptors of the Year recognized

The UTHSC College of Pharmacy’s Office of Experiential Learning and International Programs recognized six Preceptors of the Year for 2021. Three Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) preceptors were recognized – one for each region of the state – and two Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) preceptors were recognized, along with a full-time faculty preceptor.

TJ Hodge of the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville oversees a Nephrology APPE and was named East Tennessee APPE Preceptor of the Year.

Jon Golden of Walgreen’s Specialty Pharmacy oversees a Specialty Pharmacy Practice APPE and was named Middle Tennessee APPE Preceptor of the Year.

Shari May of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis oversees a Medicine APPE and was named West Tennessee APPE Preceptor of the Year.

Karen Babb of CHI Memorial Hospital oversees an Institutional IPPE and was named an IPPE Preceptor of the Year.

April Labon of Walgreen’s Pharmacy oversees a Community Pharmacy IPPE and was named an IPPE Preceptor of the Year.

Tracy Hagemann, professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science and associate dean for the Nashville campus at the UTHSC College of Pharmacy, was named Full-Time Faculty Preceptor of the Year.
