Santosh Kumar, PhD, assistant dean for scholarly integration and collaboration and professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, was named a Faculty Member of the Year 2020 by Faculty Opinions.

Faculty Opinions, formerly known as Faculty of 1000 (F1000), is an international organization of more than 1,000 members who review scholarly articles in their fields and provide recommendations. Dr. Kumar was named Faculty Member of the Year in his area of Pharmacology and Drug Discovery based on both the quantity and quality of the reviews he provided.

“I am very happy to receive this award for recommending and reviewing publications in the area of pharmacology and drug discovery,” Dr. Kumar said. “It is an honor to receive this prestigious recognition.”

The members of Faculty Opinions are peer-nominated, internationally renowned researchers from across the world. Dr. Kumar was nominated as a member in 2013. Since that time, he has published more than 100 reviews and recommendations.

“Santosh is a great scientist and teacher,” said College of Pharmacy Dean Marie Chisholm-Burns. “I am delighted to see him honored in this way.”
