Amaya Kumar, coordinator in the Office of Student Affairs in the College of Pharmacy, was awarded the Thomas Connell Lichterman Employee of the Year Award for 2020.
The award is presented to a non-exempt University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) employee who demonstrates the high standards and positive characteristics exemplified by Lichterman, who was a messenger for University of Tennessee Medical Group and UTHSC for 11 years.
“I’m honored to have been selected as the 2020 Lichterman Award winner,” Kumar said. “I feel so grateful to work within the hardworking and dedicated community at UTHSC, and I am honored to be recognized for my reliability, quality of work, and disposition. 2020 has been a challenging year for many, and ending my year with this news is such a blessing.”
Kumar will receive a plaque and a one-time award of $1,500. Her name will also be added to a plaque of past award honorees in the Student-Alumni Center.
