COP helps during COVID-19 pandemic

|

The College of Pharmacy is proud of the way our students are serving during this challenging time. Here are just a few examples:

  •  Member of the College’s American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter in Knoxville used the money they would have used for their April lunch to provide Chick-fil-A for healthcare workers at the UT Medical Center.
  • College of Pharmacy students Sarah Collier and Mary Gardner are on the front lines this month at ZüpMed in Memphis assisting Dr. Shannon Finks and ZüpMed staff in administering COVID-19 testing.
  • Student pharmacists are staffing the dispensary at the Shade Tree Clinic in Nashville to ensure patients continue to get their medications. The clinic is open on Saturday afternoons and supervised by Dr. Tracy Hagemann.
  • College of Pharmacy student Jordan Simien was featured on the Today Show as part of their “#TODAYHEROES” segment, which spotlights those who are going above and beyond during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • College of Pharmacy faculty, staff and students have been making masks and printing personal protection equipment.
  • College of Pharmacy students volunteering at various testing centers and call centers.
