College of Pharmacy faculty members were well-represented at the University of Tennessee Research Foundation’s (UTRF) 2019 Innovation Award ceremony in December 2019.
Dr. Michio Kurosu and Dr. Frank Park received the 2020 Maturation Grants to advance new technologies to a stage where they can be licensed to commercial entities. Additionally, Dr. Duane Miller, Dr. Bob Moore, Dr. Park, and Dr. Ryan Yates were recognized for Licensed Technologies, and Dr. Wei Li received a Startup Award in support of his company SEAK Therapeutics LLC. Dr. Hassan Almoazen, Dr. Li, and Dr. Miller were honored for having received patents issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Miller provided the keynote presentation of the event and was recognized for his more than 25 years of research at UTHSC in discovering and developing novel treatments for unmet medical needs, as well as for receiving his 100th patent, the highest number of patents that has ever been issued to any University of Tennessee system faculty member.
