Dr. Francesco Giorgianni, PhD, MBA, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences was awarded a $30,000 grant from the Retina Research Foundation for a program that will help to better understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that lead to age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and could provide leads for the development of new therapeutic strategies.
The mission of the Retina Research Foundation is to reduce retinal blindness worldwide by funding programs in research and education.
