College of Pharmacy Alumnus Shane Reeves, Class of 1994, was elected to the Tennessee State Senate to represent District 14 on March 13. Reeves won 71.73 percent of the vote over his opponent Gayle Jordan.
Reeves established the Reeves-Sain Family of Medical Services along with fellow alum UTHSC Rick Sain in 1995. The pair bought the pharmacy from Reeves’ father and sold it in 2015. Reeves becomes the third alum from the UTHSC College of Pharmacy currently serving in the Tennessee state government along with Lt. Governor Randy McNally and State Senator Ferrell Haile.
District 14 is comprised of parts of Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall, Moore and Rutherford County. Reeves will complete the term of former State Senator Jim Tracy, who resigned after being appointed to a federal position.
