Jeffrey M. Rybak, PharmD, Integrated Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. candidate in the Rogers Lab, was recently awarded an American College of Clinical Pharmacy Research Institute Futures Grant for Fellows and Junior Investigators. The ACCP RI Futures Grants are mentored awards designed to provide support for the development of research skills among fellows and early-career ACCP members with the goal of establishing sustained interest and careers in pharmacy research. This award will fund Dr. Rybak’s ongoing research into non-Cyp51A mediated triazole antifungal resistance in Aspergillus fumigatus, with mentors Dr. P. David Rogers, Dr. Jarrod R. Fortwendel, and Dr. Nathan P. Wiederhold. The long-term goal of this research program is to advance the treatment of invasive aspergillosis, a disease state associated with more than 200,000 life threatening infections each year.
