Merrion Buckley (P2- Memphis) delivered an oral and poster presentation titled “Ethanol differentially alters BCRP and MRP1 expression in M1 and M2 polarized macrophages” at the 45th annual Autumn Immunology Conference in Chicago on Sunday, November 20. Under the direction of Dr. Ted Cory, Assistant Professor in Clinical Pharmacy, Buckley spent six months on the project and has been involved in it from the initial design and manipulation. She will continue working on the research, and hopes it will be published in the next year. The long-term goals of the project remain that of improving the outcomes for HIV+ individuals who drink.
