Foster Retires After 18+ Years of Service

|

Dr. Stephan Foster is a Professor, past Vice Chair of Community Pharmacy Affairs, and current Director of IPPE in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, and Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine.  A retired Captain from the US Public Health Service, Dr. Foster has been a strong advocate for the pharmacist’s role in public health. He has personally trained hundreds of pharmacists as immunizers and, through his work with student pharmacists, has facilitated the vaccination of more than 10,000 Tennesseans annually. His collaborations within and outside of pharmacy have led to his appointment by the governor of Tennessee to chair a new committee on cervical cancer vaccination. The state also has used his knowledge and skills in the development and implementation of its pandemic preparedness plan.

Dr. Foster is retiring after more than 18 years of service to the College of Pharmacy.  He was celebrated with a tractor-themed reception at the end of June.  He will be missed!
