Nineteen student pharmacists earned Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider status in April. ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who help manage cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest. According to Dr. Kelly Rogers, professor of Clinical Pharmacy, students learned about the pharmacist’s role in ACLS and experienced simulations where each student ultimately performed as the team leader during a “megacode”. The students are now qualified to help handle these medical emergencies.
