Rogers Presents Swintosky Distinguished Lecture

Dave Rogers Swintosky LectureOn March 24, 2016, David Rogers, PharmD, PhD, professor of Clinical Pharmacy, was invited to the University of Kentucky (UK) to deliver the 2016 Swintosky Distinguished Lecture for their Rho Chi Research Day. His presentation was entitled “Improving Antifungal Pharmacotherapy and Lessons Learned Along the Way”. This endowed lectureship honors Emeritus Dean Joseph V. Swintosky who was dean of the UK College of Pharmacy from 1967 – 1987. The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy describes Swintosky as “an accomplished educator, product formulation scientist and a recipient of several American Pharmacists Association awards. During his tenure, Dr. Swintosky invited outstanding pharmaceutical scientists and educators to give lectures at the College and to interact with faculty and students. “ Since 1980, the UK College of Pharmacy faculty have annually identified and selected an outstanding pharmaceutical scientist and educator to receive the honor and prestige of being named the Swintosky Distinguished Lecturer. In addition to the lecture, Dr. Rogers visited with students and faculty and served as a poster judge.
