Faculty Honored at 2016 UTHSC Innovation Awards

The 2016 University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Innovation Awards Luncheon was held on February 3, 2016 on the Memphis campus. Dr. Richard Magid, vice president of the University of Tennessee Research Foundation and Dr. Steve J. Schwab, UTHSC chancellor, presented awards for patents, licensed technology and start-up companies. The following College of Pharmacy faculty and graduate student were recognized for their achievements:

Wei Li, Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Tao Lowe, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Duane Miller, Professor Emeritus of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Bob Moore, Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Jordan Toutounchian, Graduate Research Assistant of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Charles Ryan Yates, Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Michio Kurosu, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Frank Park, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Hassan Almoazen, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences

In total, twelve inventors received a total of eighteen patent plaques. In addition, nine new innovations were awarded license certificates. Each College of Pharmacy recipient’s work will be featured in the upcoming issues of the UT College of Pharmacy News.
