As a part of National Public Health Week, The University of Tennessee Student National Pharmacists Association (SNPhA) and American Pharmacist Association- Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapters partnered with the colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing to provide Teddy Bear Check Ups on April 10, 2015 at Cornerstone Preparatory School in Memphis. Teddy Bear Check Ups is a program in which young children learn about basic health topics in a fun and engaging way. Kindergartners were all given bears to take around the room to different stations where they learned more about taking care of themselves and their bears. Multiple information stations were available including Nutrition, Stretching and Exercise, Dental Hygiene, Tobacco Use, Kidney Health, and Drug Abuse. Nearly 100 children participated, and they all enjoyed learning how to take care of themselves and their bears!
