As part of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) Midyear Meeting, UTHSC COP student pharmacists attended the annual student-organized legislative health fair alongside students from the other colleges of pharmacy across the state of Tennessee. The health fair was held at the Tennessee State Capitol on February 23rd and consisted of blood pressure screenings, discussing the importance of pharmacist integration within the healthcare system, and advocating to members of the state legislator for bills such as The Healthcare Improvement Act. Student pharmacists were also invited to the House and the Senate to observe a congressional session, where they were announced and recognized by Representative Dr. David Shepard and Senator Dr. Randy McNally.
