Recently, the research of Drs. Amanda Howard-Thompson, Debbie Byrd, Anita Airee and former faculty members Michelle Farland and Katie Suda were highlighted in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Practice-Based Research Network’s (PBRN) Resource Center. The Resource Center’s mission is “to support AHRQ in providing resources and assistance to all registered primary care PBRNs engaged in clinical and health services research.” The Resource Center hopes to encourage information-sharing between PBRNs from idea creation to preliminary work to publication of the final products. The UTCOP faculty research featured was “Pharmacist-physician collaboration for diabetes care: cardiovascular outcomes.” The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of a pharmacist-physician collaboration on attainment of cardiovascular-related goals in patients with type 2 diabetes.
