Bradley A. Boucher, PharmD, FCCP, MCCM received the honorary title of Master of Critical Care Medicine (MCCM) at the American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) Convocation in January, 2015. MCCM candidates are selected among the current fellows of ACCM, and are elected by a majority vote of the ACCM Board of Regents with approval by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Council. Dr. Boucher’s selection as an MCCM reflects his status as a long-standing Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine over the last 15 years as well as his achievements as a prominent and distinguished leader of national and international stature, his personal character, leadership, eminence in clinical practice, outstanding contributions to research and education in critical care and exemplary contributions to SCCM, ACCM and the field of critical care in its broadest sense. The awarding of Master of Critical Care Medicine is a relatively new honor that began in 2012, and during the first five years that the honor is conferred (2012-2017) there will be no limit to the number of MCCMs selected. Thereafter, there will be a limit of five MCCMs selected in a given year. Dr. Boucher is one of only six pharmacists to have received this honor, out of the 64 total MCCM honorees, to date. Previous MCCM pharmacist honorees include Gilles Fraser and Brian Erstad, and this year Judi Jacobi, Joseph Dasta and William Dager were honored along with Dr. Boucher. When interviewed about receipt of his MCCM title, Dr. Boucher replied, “I am truly honored and humbled to receive this prestigious honor.  It truly represents a capstone in my career as a critical care practitioner, educator and academician over the last 30 years.”
