Kelly Rogers, PharmD, FCCP, professor of Clinical Pharmacy, visited the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain, one of our International Program sites. Dr. Rogers (R) is pictured with Dr. Edurne Fernandez de Gamarra Martinez (L), the main preceptor at the hospital and coordinator for UTHSC College of Pharmacy students during their month-long experience. This rotation provides student pharmacists with an inpatient experience where they rotate to different practice areas including nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, medicine, and drug information.
Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is the oldest hospital in Spain. A public hospital with approximately 650 beds, Sant Pau offers almost all specialties including neonatology, pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, trauma and internal medicine. The hospital plays a prominent role in Spain and is internationally renowned.
