Class of 2014 PharmD and PhD Students Graduate

ConvoGrad2014Collage.jpgUT College of Pharmacy PharmD graduates, faculty, family and friends came together at First Baptist Church on Thursday, May 29, in Memphis for the Honors and Awards Convocation. Rev. Mark Bryson, Liberty Institutional Baptist Church, gave the invocation and led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance and “America the Beautiful.” Peter Chyka, PharmD, Professor and Executive Associate Dean, gave the charge to the students. Phillip Wilkins, class president for the Memphis Campus presented the student response. Students then took part in the hooding ceremony, in which Drs. Peter Chyka and Stephanie Phelps presented academic hoods to each graduate. Dr. Chasity Shelton, chair of the Honors and Awards Committee, led the presentation of student awards with assistance by other faculty and special guests. Drs. Richard Brown and Jim Eoff were presented with awards from the College of Pharmacy in honor of their outstanding dedication to the College and the profession of pharmacy.

On Friday, May 30, the UT Health Science Center graduated 672 students from the six colleges that comprise the campus. Dean Marie Chisholm-Burns of the College of Pharmacy presented diplomas to 126 PharmD graduates and two PhD graduates.
