Andrea Franks, PharmD, BCPS and Michelle Farland, PharmD, BCPS, CDE, associate professors of Clinical Pharmacy, were invited to present programming on Team-Based Learning (TBL) for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy in April. Drs. Franks and Farland presented a seminar entitled “Team-Based Learning: Overview, Tools, and Tips” followed by a workshop “Spring into Success with Team-Based Learning.” Ashley Castleberry, PharmD, MAEd, assistant professor and director of assessment at UAMS College of Pharmacy said, “The seminar was attended by faculty from across campus in multiple disciplines. The workshop participants put their TBL knowledge to work with application exercises on potential challenges with this teaching method. Andrea and Michelle are TBL experts in pharmacy education. Their enthusiasm for TBL is contagious – I think some of our faculty caught the vision! It was an honor to host them at our College.”
